Lisk is a cryptocurrency built on a blockchain with programming abilities built into it.
The goal of Lisk is to create an entry point for skillful programmers. They intend to do this by allowing programmers to build their own blockchain applications using Lisk.
Secondary blockchain built alongside the main Lisk blockchain are known as “sidechains”. Programmers can build their own blockchain applications on these sidechains with their own tokens/cryptocurrencies. Because these new sidechain applications are not built on the Lisk blockchain, Lisk is protected from any potential vulnerabilities or network clogging problems.
The programming language for Lisk is common to many programmers, it is JavaScript.
